It joins a number of further audio-focused apps for Apple Watch, most notably including Marco Arment’s Overcast ( which added a smartwatch support prior to the wearable’s launch). That being said, we’re nevertheless pleased to see VOX Player add Watch support. Of course, the usual options are available here, though it’s worth noting that since we’re still dealing with Watch extensions (as opposed to native apps), users will experience some lag between VOX Player for Cupertino’s smartwatch and smartphone.

The app supports all “lossless” and “lossy” file formats, it doesn’t downscale your music, and it promises to offer crystal clear audio, too (even when playing compressed file formats). In it, users can listen to music from their personal VOX collection, from iTunes, SoundCloud, or radio. You can grab the updated VOX Player free of charge on the App Store, and it’s optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch. As such, you can begin using the app to control your VOX library now using the new smartwatch, provided users have the application downloaded on their iPhone handset. VOX Player, the iOS version of the popular Mac application, has received a great update adding support for Cupertino’s Apple Watch.
